About This Place

Nestled along the shimmering shores of South Lake Tahoe, Artemis Lakefront Café invites diners to embark on a vibrant culinary journey through Mediterranean and brunch delights. This inviting café masterfully blends the rich, aromatic flavors of Turkey and Greece with classic brunch favorites, offering an enticing menu that beckons food lovers to savor every bite in a laid-back lakefront setting.

From the moment you step onto their outdoor patio, the tranquil views of the marina set a serene backdrop that enhances the entire dining experience. Imagine savoring a perfectly brewed Turkish Coffee or a frothy Cappuccino while gentle breezes play softly with the water’s reflection. The atmosphere here effortlessly combines warmth and casual elegance — the perfect place to relax, people-watch, or celebrate a leisurely meal with loved ones.

The menu at Artemis Lakefront Café bursts with vibrant colors and fresh, authentic ingredients. Among the standout dishes, the Veggie Souvlake and the succulent Lamb Gyros deliver the essence of traditional Mediterranean comfort, their herbs and spices dancing on the palate with just the right balance of zest and earthiness. The Baklava French Toast is a stroke of brunch brilliance: thick slices of Texas toast soaked in cinnamon-vanilla batter, crispy on the outside but meltingly tender within, topped with layers of flaky phyllo, nuts, and honey that create a luscious, unforgettable sweetness.

If you’re craving something heartier, the Gyros Plate or the chef’s signature Artemis Fries with their special sauce offer satisfying, bold flavors that leave a lasting impression. The freshness of the Mezze Plate invites sharing and exploration, presenting a medley of creamy dips, crisp falafel, and perfectly toasted pita. For seafood lovers, the Mahi Fish & Chips provide a delightful twist—light, crisp batter enveloping tender fish, served alongside crispy fries that are anything but ordinary.

Breakfast options shine as well, with creative spins such as the Vegetarian Greek Omelet bursting with spinach, feta, tomatoes, and Kalamata olives, all complemented by herb-roasted potatoes. Savory meets comforting in the Breakfast Gyro—rotisserie lamb, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese wrapped in warm pita bread, a perfect start to any day.

Dessert is where Artemis truly indulges guests’ sweet cravings. The Chocolate Galaktoboureko layers silky, rich semolina custard with cinnamon-spiced whipped cream and honey—a decadent embrace of Greek tradition. Equally irresistible is the Baklava, its flaky, golden phyllo layers generously filled with almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and a kiss of honey and cinnamon. And for a modern twist, the cheesecake served with pomegranate syrup and honey balances tartness and sweetness in every bite.

What truly elevates Artemis Lakefront Café is not just the food but the concerted attention to personalized service and atmosphere, as many guests have experienced. From Richard’s expert guidance navigating the menu to Edward’s effortless hospitality on a bustling Saturday morning, the staff ensures every visit feels special and thoughtfully curated. This warm attentiveness complements the lively ambiance created by a carefully chosen soundtrack and the stunning lake views.

Whether you’re washing away the remnants of a long night, fueling up before lake adventures, or simply craving a meaningful meal by the water, Artemis Lakefront Café offers a remarkable blend of flavor, setting, and heartfelt service. It’s a place to relax, indulge, and let the Mediterranean sun’s spirit brighten your day.

What a great lunch spot! I loved their chicken souvlaki and the fish and chips. The view from their outdoor patio is great too. They even played two semi-niche songs from my favorite albums during our visit. Silly but really helps make the memories that last. Give them a try!

Richard absolutely deserves 5 stars for the experience. From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. He asked great questions about what we liked, made thoughtful recommendations, and every dish he suggested ended up being spot on. What really stood out was how consistent he was the entire meal. Drinks were always topped off, plates were cleared quickly, and he checked in just enough without ever feeling intrusive. On top of that, his personality was fun and relaxed, which made the whole dinner feel easy and enjoyable instead of just another night out. If you’re eating here, definitely ask for Richard. He knocked it out of the park with both service and personality, and turned a good meal into a genuinely memorable experience.

Stopped here for lunch before our boat tour in Lake Tahoe. Cool lil spot on the lake. My wife had the wings, I had the chicken gyro and we split the ceasar salad. Note: the wings were in a buffalo sauce. Didn't really get that from the description. The service was pretty quick and the food was tasty. Traditional Mediterranean flavors. The staff was helpful. The views were great. They have an outside bar as well. Give it a try if you're near the lake.

Edward was great! We came on a busy Saturday mid morning. Tina pits and chicken pita were excellent. Location is great to the marina and the beach. Excellent place to people watch. Also a great place to wash away gambling blues. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere.

Artemis Lakefront Cafe delivered for my last lunch. My lamb gyro and fries were delicious. I like their special sauce for the fries. Also, save room for baklava because it was quite tasty. Thanks Maria for the great recommendations.

Beautiful cafe. Loved the lamb breakfast gyro with fruits on the side. Greek Breakfast is another tasty and filling option. Tried Turkish Coffee for the first time, fun experiment! Hazelnut latte was the right amount of sweet. Enjoyed the lake view.
